Introducing the Free and Reduced Cost Pass Program 2024!

The BikeLNK Equity program is entering it's 3rd year, and we could be more excited! Since it's inception, the program has been changing with the nonprofit and bikeshare landscape, adapting to the ebb and flow of a still very new industry. This year, the equity program has been made possible by the Cooper Foundation, which funded the purchase of 150 free and reduced-cost passes to be distributed to transportation-disadvantaged members of our community. 

This year, we're endeavoring to make the process as simple as possible for those who may not have the means to download the Bcycle application or use a personal credit card; the two primary limitations to many folks who would otherwise make great use of our system. Our 75 free 1-day passes and 75, $5 year-long passes have been distributed to 7 of our wonderful, long-time nonprofit partners:

RISE;
Catholic Social Services;
Asian Cultural and Community Center;
F Street Community Center;
Malone Center;
Matt Talbot, and;
StarTran

There are no defined criteria that one must prove in order to be a pass recipient! It's simply up to the pass distributor to determine the level of need and urgency by which the recipient requires supplementary transportation. If a pass recipient does not own a smartphone or has no access to a computer, our partners' staff have been informed on how to assist them get signed up for the program, and request an RFID fob for easy access to the bikes, smartphone-free. While a functioning debit/credit card is required for signup (even for the free passes), prepaid cards are accepted!
